Review: Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne Treatment Gel

Hi everyone!

Tonight I thought I’d take the time to write about my go-to spot acne treatment gel! I cannot live without it! This little tube right here is a life saver.

I don’t usually get much acne but when I do it’s the cystic kinda that you can’t just pop ;(

I tend to get it around my nose which I find so difficult to treat especially when it swells up and you feel like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer!!! Thankfully, this product has worked for me since high school when my mom first discovered it for my sisters and I. I use this even before the redness begins to show.

Clear Proof® Acne Treatment Gel is the third step in the Clear Proof® Acne System. It helps clear up pimples fast while helping prevent new ones from forming. Plus, it helps fade the look of lingering acne spots. Contains 5% benzoyl peroxide.

Price: $10 (as per Mary Kay website)

Effective in what it claims to do
Affordable price
Over-the-counter (I order online)
A little goes a long way with this product. Lasts for months
Travel size (I take it whenever I travel, for ‘just in case’ situations
Clears acne 1-2 nights

Although this product is the only acne treatment I feel comfortable using on my face and has worked for me over several years, it does have minor cons. Since the ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide works by drying up the affected area you apply it on, such as to remove the oils, it causes the skin to peel sometimes, kind of like a minor sunburn. So those of you with sensitive skin or dry skin should do a simple test before using it all over your face.

It leaves a white matte powdery finish on your skin – this is why I apply it before bed and let it work its magic while I sleep.

So guys! Based on my review do I recommend this product to my friends?

Of course I do!

How can I keep it a secret!? I definitely recommend this product to anyone that has issues with acne, it’s definitely worth the shot if you’ve already tried everything else.

Overall Product Rating: 5/5
